Google seems to think that all sites are harmful

It seems that Google search engine thinks that all sites are harmful…

Could that be a glitch with their system?

It also seems that their own site (searching for “adsense”) is not suitable for browsing either…

Search Engines Optimization – Google Recommendations?

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Google has just release the new Search Engine Optimization tips and advice for choosing the right SEO company.

The article can be found here:
What’s an SEO? Does Google recommend working with companies that offer to make my site Google-friendly?

Right after the new content, Google is asking other SEO’s for tips: Webmaster Central Blog

What I love about this is the fact that everyone is saying similar things that can be easily found on the Internet, while others warns website owners not to give FTP details or allow the SEO to modify pages but do it yourself.

While that’s alright in some cases, many website owners does not know  what FTP is, and probably hasn’t got a clue which page does what…., so how exactly can this be done?
I believe in trust, and if you are out there looking for a SEO Company, but you cann’t trust anyone, than go to www.amazon.com, get yourself few SEO books, study and go for DIY.

It shouldn’t be that hard to realise, while talking to a SEO, that he/she might have a clue and things that are being said should make sense. If in doubt, you can always pop-in the Irish Webmaster Forum and ask.
There is a section there totally dedicated to SEO, and while advices is being given to you, take what you thing is right and ask more question if is too hard to understand…

Second Error from Google Analytics

Last week I was getting an error using Google Analytics which is available trough the Webmaster Tools, and it seems to be fixed now but wait, today a different error came up that happens after changing the dates range:

Set geographic target – Google WebMaster Tools

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Something new from Google Webmaster tools – Now you can set your website geographical location within the webmaster account.

Just logged in today and saw the new feature.
I think this is going to be very helpful for website that are targeting (e.g. Ireland) a certain location but the website is hosted in a different country like USA.

The new feature can be found under the Tools menu:

Quote from Google:

Some sites target users for a particular geographic location.

For example, a site may target all users within a specific country,or it may target only those users who reside within a very small

geographic area within that country.

If your site is targeting users within a particular geographic area, please provide us with the relevant information below, using only the fields that apply to your target audience.

So how will that help and improve your website ranking?

Simple: If you have a .com or any other TLD’s website and is hosted outside Ireland, but your intentions is to target the Irish audience, then by just telling Google that, your website should come up in the Ireland results, but of course that will also depend on how well your website is optimised for that search phrase.

Will keep an eye on things to see how this is going to work out for us in Ireland.

Google Analytics issue?

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Once a day, the least, I log into Google analytics to see how things are going.
The program shows a lot of interesting information and is put together very well, but there is one thing that bugs me.
After I log into my account, i choose which website statistics I want to look at and after a while I am choosing the next one from the select menu that is available at the top of the page:

 Google Analytics select option

So I select the next website, check it out for a while, then I want to go to the next one, but anytime I select a new website, Google Analytics brings me back to the previous one again and again.
So what the hack is going on?
Is there a bug that they haven’t noticed yet?

The only way I could check the third website out is to navigate away from the Analytics part, then come back to it from another page like AdWords.

This is happening to me  in the last few weeks, so it really start to bug me now.
Anyone having the same issue?
